Operations Shift Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership to employees during assigned 12-hour rotational shifts (days and nights).
• Supervise production processes across various machines to ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards.
• Ensure strict application of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, including performing inspections and participating in investigations.
• Manage performance for direct reports, including conducting annual reviews and applying collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
• Monitor key process indicators such as productivity, utilization, and rejections to optimize plant performance.
• Maintain a visible presence in the mill to foster employee engagement and assess work effectiveness.
• Control procedure compliance and participate in the design of work instructions and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Relevant technical diploma or degree with 3-5 years of industrial/manufacturing experience, OR 10+ years of manufacturing experience in leadership roles.
• Strong familiarity with Canadian manufacturing safety procedures.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotational shift schedule in a steel manufacturing mill environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a steel mill.
• Proficiency with SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
