Operations Service Technician I

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot basic Voice, Data, and Video services on fiber networks
• Perform data entry for trouble tickets, orders, and provisioning systems
• Provision and configure Wi-Fi settings including SSID and wireless firewalls
• Install and troubleshoot customer on-premise equipment such as routers, switches, and gateways
• Install and troubleshoot circuits for Voice and Broadband
• Maintain and remove company-owned equipment as needed

Requirements

• 1-2 years of related experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid, fully unencumbered Driver’s License
• Ability to reside within 30 minutes of the normal reporting location
• Experience interacting directly with customers
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Availability for weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call duties
• Ability to climb utility poles and work at heights
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas
• Ability to lift and transport 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fiber or Telecom industry experience
• Experience with Zhone, SmartRG, or AirTies equipment
• Experience with Light Level Meter operation
