Operations Research Engineer

Responsibilities

• Participate in the scoping of business problems to apply operations research methods
• Identify and translate data requirements representing system constraints into mathematical models
• Develop custom mathematical optimization and stochastic simulation models using linear programming, mixed-integer programming, or discrete event simulation
• Drive cross-functional alignment to validate model solution quality
• Create technical documentation and conduct reviews with senior professionals to ensure quality
• Manage project timelines and coordinate with global, cross-functional teams to deploy scalable solutions

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a relevant Engineering field
• 3+ years of experience applying operations research modeling methods to large-scale problems
• Proficiency in mathematical modeling languages such as AIMMS, GAMS, AMPL, Pyomo, or Gurobipy
• Experience with system dynamics simulation software such as Stella Architect, VenSim, or AnyLogic
• Familiarity with Python for developing and deploying solutions
• Experience with Git for source code version control
• Strong analytical and communication skills to engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders
