Operations Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work for the assembly, testing, processing, and launch of NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) in support of the Artemis program
• Conduct system tests, collect and analyze data on equipment performance, and troubleshoot system anomalies
• Develop Work Authorization Documents to process, test, and launch the SLS Rocket
• Apply technical principles to vehicle processing operations, ground-to-vehicle interfaces, and system design
• Act as Task Team Leader for assignments involving Main Propulsion Systems and Engines
• Accomplish testing and operations independently while contributing to overall team results

Requirements

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace preferred) or technical equivalent
• Knowledge of technical principles and vehicle processing operations
• Experience or background in aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle processing is a plus
• Valid US Driver's License
• Ability to work in a hazardous testing facility environment, including climbing stairs and wearing personal protective equipment
