About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a multi-trade shop including maintenance, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and controls teams
- Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, integrating multiple trades throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage budgets and expenses to ensure projects remain on track and within scope
- Oversee project timelines and deliverables to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Lead and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and safety
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four years of progressive experience in a related functional managerial area
- At least one year of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience planning, supervising, and executing maintenance and construction activities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel or work evenings/weekends as needed
- Ability to obtain a Master Electrician or Electrical Administrator license, Fire Alarm Systems Level II, and Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems Level II within 24 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a construction project manager
- Three years of full-time experience as a journey trades worker, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role
- Previous experience with WSU building systems
- Additional professional licenses or certifications in any trade field
