About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a multi-trade shop including maintenance, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and controls teams
  • Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, integrating multiple trades throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage budgets and expenses to ensure projects remain on track and within scope
  • Oversee project timelines and deliverables to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Lead and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and safety

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four years of progressive experience in a related functional managerial area
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience planning, supervising, and executing maintenance and construction activities
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel or work evenings/weekends as needed
  • Ability to obtain a Master Electrician or Electrical Administrator license, Fire Alarm Systems Level II, and Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems Level II within 24 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a construction project manager
  • Three years of full-time experience as a journey trades worker, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role
  • Previous experience with WSU building systems
  • Additional professional licenses or certifications in any trade field
