About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the operations function to ensure reliable, predictable, and efficient production and shipping of quality products.
- Drive HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) excellence by enforcing site safety rules and Syensqo Life Saving Rules.
- Manage departmental costs, optimize unit operating costs, and implement cost reduction measures.
- Lead, coach, and develop operations supervisory and support personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and operating discipline.
- Conduct investigations into incidents or near misses, develop root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing excellence.
- Support plant quality management systems and compliance with standards such as ISO and RCMS.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial safety, process safety, or industrial hygiene.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Experience with safety management systems, exposure assessment tools, and risk analysis methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage and lead teams, ideally within a union environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications such as CIH or CSP.
- Familiarity with batch and continuous processing.
- Knowledge of 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing concepts, and/or SAP.
