Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead Rail Transport operations teams in West Melbourne to deliver business objectives and safety compliance.
• Design and execute dynamic labour planning strategies to drive efficient, cost-effective daily operations.
• Partner with Customer Account Managers to align operational activities with customer expectations.
• Lead proactive safety management, tracking incidents and ensuring compliance with safety KPIs.
• Review and refine run sheets to optimize route efficiency and maximize resource utilization.
• Champion a culture of operational excellence and continuous process improvement.
• Oversee financial performance, including cost control and budgeting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of operational leadership experience within the Transport or Logistics industry.
• Proven capability to lead operational teams and build high-performing, diverse workforces.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
• Sound commercial acumen with an understanding of budgeting and operational cost drivers.
• Analytical and process-driven mindset focused on continuous improvement.
• Exposure to rail operations is highly valued.
