Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize all operational activities, including inventory management, sawing, machining, heat treatment, testing, and quality control.
• Provide motivational leadership to the operational team and foster a collaborative "one business" culture across departments.
• Lead Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement (CI) programs to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
• Implement Visual Management to improve workplace organization, SOPs, and KPI visibility.
• Standardize data-driven approaches to capacity planning, scheduling, and daily operational meetings.
• Ensure compliance with all QHSE requirements to promote a culture of safe working practices.
• Identify and develop operational improvements through process optimization or capital expenditure projects.
• Produce weekly and monthly performance reports for the Directors to enable data-driven analysis.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in a senior Operations or Production Management role within a medium to heavy engineering environment.
• Proven track record of leading multi-disciplined teams from order receipt to dispatch.
• Experience delivering and exceeding KPIs related to operational performance targets.
• Minimum HNC/HND level qualification or similar vocational accreditation.
• Qualification in Operational Excellence methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) legislation.
• Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in implementing large-scale continuous improvement or capital expenditure projects.
• Advanced skills in capacity planning and strategic resource allocation.
