Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and train the microbiology laboratory team to ensure high quality and efficiency standards
• Assist the Business Unit Manager in daily operations, including supervising manual and instrumental analyses
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and company Quality System documents (SOPs)
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and coordinate major repairs to maintain operational readiness
• Review and evaluate test data for technical accuracy and compliance with test methods
• Investigate non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Manage personnel activities including interviewing, hiring, and conducting annual performance reviews
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and quality control results

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, or Molecular Biology
• 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a laboratory setting
• Hands-on experience with PCR, ELISA, and cultural confirmation of foodborne pathogens (e.g., Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli)
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, technical writing, and computer operations
• Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
