Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline leadership to a diverse team of approximately 55 employees across the Southwest portfolio
• Drive a culture of compliance and safety to ensure effective risk and compliance initiatives are established and promoted
• Monitor and manage branch operational activities, focusing on productivity, equipment utilisation, and value drivers
• Manage a substantial local government waste services collection network
• Identify and implement operational efficiencies to meet contractual obligations and financial targets
• Work with customers and the Sales team to maximise revenue growth opportunities
• Ensure site equipment is purchased, maintained, and operated appropriately
• Investigate and manage vehicle incidents, property damage, and personal injuries

Requirements

• Experience managing operational departments in a blue-collar environment (e.g., Transport, Waste Management, or FMCG)
• Proven leadership track record in safety performance and compliance
• Strong commercial, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage tight timeframes and complex stakeholder relationships
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
