Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline leadership to a diverse team of approximately 50 employees across the Southwest portfolio.
• Drive a culture of compliance and safety to ensure effective risk and compliance initiatives are established and promoted.
• Monitor and manage branch operational activities, focusing on productivity, equipment utilisation, and value drivers.
• Manage a substantial local government waste services collection network.
• Identify and implement operational efficiencies to meet contractual obligations and financial targets.
• Work with customers and the Sales team to maximise revenue growth opportunities.
• Ensure site equipment is purchased, maintained, and operated appropriately.
• Investigate and manage vehicle incidents, property damage, and personal injuries.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing operational departments in a blue-collar environment.
• Strong leadership track record with a focus on safety leadership and performance.
• Excellent commercial, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage tight timeframes and meet operational targets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience in Transport, Waste Management, or FMCG sectors.
• Experience acting as a 2IC or in a similar senior supervisory capacity.
