Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely project completion in a high-throughput environment
• Lead and mentor a team of over 50 laboratory personnel, managing hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Manage workflow, sample volume, and resource allocation to meet turnaround time (TAT) and on-time delivery (OTD) goals
• Ensure strict compliance with ISO 17025, NELAC, DoD, and other applicable regulatory standards
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment and facility infrastructure
• Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous process improvement
• Serve as a technical resource for client inquiries and support sales teams with technical expertise

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field
• Minimum 5 years of laboratory management experience
• Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and environmental regulations
• Proven experience managing large teams (50+ staff)
• Proficiency with LIMS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume production and meet performance targets

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an environmental laboratory setting
• Experience managing P&L (Profit and Loss)
• Understanding of organic and inorganic analytical methods
