Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely project completion
• Manage a high-volume production environment to meet turnaround time (TAT) and on-time delivery (OTD) goals
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of over 50 laboratory personnel, including hiring and performance evaluations
• Ensure strict compliance with ISO 17025, NELAC, DoD, and other applicable regulatory standards
• Monitor and manage workflow, sample volume, and resource allocation to maintain optimal throughput
• Oversee laboratory facility operations, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance
• Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as backlog, capacity, and productivity
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows and reduce cycle times

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science
• Minimum 5 years of laboratory management experience
• Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and environmental regulations
• Experience working with LIMS systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Proven success managing large teams of 50+ staff
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an environmental laboratory setting
• Experience managing P&L (Profit and Loss)
