Operations Lead

Responsibilities

• Define, create, and achieve standard work while driving optimization within the assigned business unit.
• Investigate and correct non-routine equipment issues to minimize impacts on safety, quality, rate, and yield.
• Lead Basic Equipment Care (BEC) activities and provide input for equipment modifications or designs.
• Act as a key communication link between team members, engineers, and maintenance to resolve technical issues.
• Support and maintain food safety practices and quality culture through SQF requirements.
• Train and coach employees on new equipment, processes, and procedures.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities through special projects and root cause analysis.
• Act as a backup to the Operations Supervisor and participate in safety walks and incident investigations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of food manufacturing or related experience preferred.
• Certified SQF practitioner.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge and ability to operate production equipment.
• Understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
• Intermediate math and computer skills, including the ability to calculate yield, rate, and reliability metrics.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Physical ability to stand, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds in a manufacturing environment.
