Operations Head: Production

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated strategy for the Babylonstoren factory group, focusing on sustainable growth, profitability, and operational excellence
• Manage the performance of all manufacturing units against budgets, turnover, and profit targets
• Analyze financial statements, identify trends, and provide insightful commentary and recommendations
• Lead the annual business planning process and drive execution throughout the financial year
• Ensure optimal production processes, cost management, and capacity utilization across all factories
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and product development across all departments
• Build and develop high-performing teams and ensure a healthy, productive work culture
• Collaborate with technical, logistics, and commercial teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Ensure the maintenance of quality and food safety standards

Requirements

• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or production management, with part of it at a senior management level
• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Engineering, Production Management, or a similar relevant field
• Strong technical background in manufacturing and processes
• Proven experience in strategic planning and implementation
• Strong financial insight and understanding of financial management or management accounting
• Ability to analyze financial statements and guide business decisions
• Experience in multi-site or multi-departmental management is advantageous
• Excellent people management and leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and manage complex challenges
• Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English
