About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure the continuous availability and functionality of biopharmaceutical production facilities, with a primary focus on Upstream Processing (USP).
- Coordinate and supervise internal and external service providers during maintenance, repair, and conversion work.
- Create quality-relevant maintenance documentation and manage deviations, changes, and other compliance-related topics.
- Adhere to all relevant GMP, EHS, and compliance regulations.
- Optimize internal processes using LEAN methodologies and implement tools for maintenance and spare parts management.
- Support budget planning, participate in audits and authority inspections as a technical contact, and provide 2nd-level support for technical disturbances.
- Act as a project engineer during the procurement, conversion, and implementation of process plants across all project phases.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) or a Technician/Master qualification in Bio-process Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a GxP environment within the biotech or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Proven experience in process engineering, project engineering, and project management.
- Foundational knowledge of MSR technology (measurement, control, and regulation) and automation.
- Strong understanding of technical processes and production equipment in a biotechnological pharmaceutical environment.
- Proficiency in both German and English.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience in the (bio) pharmaceutical or chemical production industry.
- Knowledge of relevant cGMP regulations and guidelines.
- Possession of a Class B driver's license.
