Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement test strategies, plans, procedures, and mission cards for ground and flight testing
• Coordinate with vehicle engineering to identify system safety and operational concerns
• Interface with engineers, crew chiefs, and ground support personnel
• Prepare for Test & Flight Readiness Reviews
• Identify test hazards and implement real-time mitigation actions
• Support vehicle maintenance and test teams to fulfill operational necessities
• Control on-vehicle priorities and schedules for assembly and flight readiness
• Assist with functional system test planning for avionics, flight control, and propulsion
• Respond to emergency situations and act as mission manager during incidents
• Contribute to high-speed vehicle test data gathering and documentation
• Facilitate payload hardware and software integration

Requirements

• Proven technical aerospace leadership experience
• Experience with experimental aircraft, launch vehicles, or spacecraft
• Knowledge of risk management or safety management systems
• Experience with engineering, scheduling, and test data analysis tools
• Ability to lead large teams and adapt to changing priorities
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a secret security clearance
• Ability to work irregular hours and travel periodically

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Professional Flight Test Course completion
• Knowledge of launch vehicle or aircraft requirements verification
• Experience with government flight test organizations or ranges
• Existing TS/SCI Clearance
