Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement test strategies, objectives, plans, procedures, and mission cards for ground and flight testing of high-speed vehicles
• Coordinate with vehicle engineering teams to identify system safety and operational concerns
• Interface with engineers, crew chiefs, and ground support personnel to ensure operational priorities are executed
• Provide organization and preparation for Test & Flight Readiness Reviews
• Identify test hazards and develop real-time mitigation actions
• Control on-vehicle priorities and schedules to meet assembly, test, and flight readiness requirements
• Support functional system test planning in areas such as avionics, flight control, recovery systems, and propulsion
• Contribute to high-speed vehicle test data gathering and ensure results are reviewed and documented
• Facilitate payload hardware and software integration and testing on high-speed test vehicles
• Develop concepts of operations for all launch and recovery locations

Requirements

• Proven technical aerospace leadership experience in a technical operations environment
• Experience with new, experimental, or modified aircraft, launch vehicles, or spacecraft
• Proficiency with engineering, scheduling, and test data analysis tools
• Knowledge of risk management or safety management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work irregular hours and travel periodically
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar technical foundation
• Completion of a Professional Flight Test Course
• Knowledge of launch vehicle or aircraft requirements verification
• Understanding of air-launch or high-speed flight programs
• Experience operating in a classified work environment or with classified hardware
• Existing TS/SCI Clearance
