Operations Engineer (Electrical)

Responsibilities

• Act as a Senior Authorised Person and Control Person to ensure a safe system of work for electrical infrastructure
• Conduct site-wide safety and technical inspections/audits across the portfolio and produce detailed reports
• Coordinate responses to emergent electrical issues identified by Site Operations and the Control Centre
• Manage electrical sub-contractors to ensure site activities are planned and executed safely and efficiently
• Perform diagnostic and fault-finding techniques to determine root cause analysis and establish corrective strategies
• Mentor and assess internal staff, including Field Supervisors, Operational Technicians, and Apprentices
• Provide technical input for the development of policy and processes regarding electrical infrastructure management
• Provide emergency call-out response and manage resources for allocated sites during emergencies

Requirements

• HND or equivalent in an Electrical related engineering discipline, or equivalent operational experience
• City and Guilds accreditation (or equivalent) in HV Network Operations
• Practical experience operating and maintaining industrial HV and LV systems up to 33kV
• Experience holding a Senior Authorised Person position with HV or Control Person authorisation
• Ability to travel unrestricted across the UK and Ireland
• Ability to work at heights (in excess of 70m) and within enclosed spaces on an infrequent basis
