About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the visual direction of newscasts and provide creative input to producers and production crews
- Ensure clean technical execution of the newscast look
- Call and punch newscasts
- Manage technical execution of linear live and live-to-tape local news and programming
- Direct, instruct, and cue talent and production crew members
- Operate graphic and clip playback servers, automated audio setups, and robotic camera control systems
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in studio production and/or directing at a commercial television station
- Experience operating broadcast equipment including switchers, audio boards, and cameras
- Ability to handle the stress and pressure of time-sensitive newscast production
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ENPS, VIZ RT graphics, or Bitcentral video playback
- Bilingual skills
- Related military experience
