Operational Technology Engineer (OTE)

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface between Automation Engineering and Information Technology to align OT priorities and requirements.
• Optimize and manage OT infrastructure, including SCADA, PLC networking, and ESXi edge computing devices.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with GMP guidelines through secure data storage and transmission practices.
• Support cybersecurity posture by investigating proactive approaches and participating in vulnerability risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and validation activities for regulatory audits.
• Lead change controls and functional testing for operational technology initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to OT/IT systems and coordinate equipment outages with manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in automated manufacturing environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of operational technology systems, specifically SCADA and PLCs.
• Hands-on experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), Data Historians, and MES.
• Familiarity with FDA GMP guidelines and data integrity regulatory requirements.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles as they apply to industrial control systems.
• Experience with business analysis and requirement gathering techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience working within a GMP manufacturing environment.
