Operational Studies Engineer (Power System Analysis)

Responsibilities

• Perform operational planning studies including load flow, short circuit, transient, and dynamic stability assessments
• Update and validate Network Models for operational studies
• Analyze network performance and recommend optimization plans for system stability and security
• Analyze the impact of critical outages, power exchanges, and HVDC disturbances
• Conduct post-analysis of major incidents through simulation to prevent future occurrences
• Calculate net transfer capacities (NTC) and determine the impact of future plans on transmission reliability
• Review project Scopes of Work, technical specifications, and consultant reports
• Assist in preparing Summer and Winter demand requirement reports and contingency plans

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• 7 years of relevant experience in power system operation and studies
• Experience with power transmission and network operations
• Proficiency with power system analysis software, specifically PSS/E
• Strong skills in planning, organization, and technical report writing
