Operational Research Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of optimisation, simulation and predictive models
• Own the end-to-end model lifecycle from problem framing to deployment
• Build a connected suite of models progressing toward a network digital twin
• Ensure models are robust, auditable, and trusted through strong validation
• Drive adoption by embedding model outputs into JOCC workflows
• Write, own, and evolve model code in production

Requirements

• Proven experience building and deploying decision-support models in production
• Hands-on experience with mathematical optimisation solvers like Gurobi or CPLEX
• Strong Python engineering skills including API design and deployment infrastructure
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
• Demonstrated people leadership through developing technical talent
• Ability to translate complex operational problems into scalable model solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and containerised workers
• Experience with REST APIs
• Strong software engineering capability within Operational Research
