Operation Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical work in the maintenance, operation, and repair of substations and Balance of Plant electrical equipment
• Monitor and operate the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System for electric distribution and switching
• Diagnose and correct problems using knowledge of electronics and electrical systems
• Evaluate abnormal system conditions and monitor routine preventative maintenance programs
• Use electrical test equipment such as meggers, volt meters, and transformer gas analyzers for troubleshooting and non-destructive testing
• Provide regional support to site managers at various project sites in Illinois

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
• 5+ years of professional experience in the maintenance of electrical systems on wind and solar facilities
• Extensive knowledge of substation equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and control components
• Experience with protection and control, specifically microprocessor relay communication and event analysis
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to live and work in the Champaign County, Illinois area
• Ability to travel up to 50% between project sites in Illinois
