Operating Room Technical Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical support activities within assigned surgical specialties, including procedure setup, breakdown, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and Sterile Processing professionals to ensure efficient operating room workflows.
• Ensure specialty equipment and instruments are maintained according to manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve equipment utilization and efficiency.
• Serve as a liaison with Sterile Processing to ensure the availability and proper care of instruments.
• Provide coaching and education to staff regarding the proper handling and maintenance of surgical equipment.
• Develop service coverage plans and standardized workflows across assigned specialty areas.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum five (5) years of clinical practice experience in an operating room setting.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience within a designated surgical specialty area.
• Ability to obtain Sterile Processing Certification within eighteen (18) months of hire.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Prior leadership, coordination, or project management experience in a perioperative environment.
• Experience supporting quality improvement, process improvement, or equipment management initiatives.
