Operating Room Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Assist in preoperative assessments, patient preparation, and IV starts
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure efficient procedures
• Maintain sterility, patient positioning, and safety during surgery
• Monitor vital signs and patient status throughout procedures
• Manage postoperative care in the PACU, including pain management and stabilization
• Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge instructions
• Support preoperative and postoperative office visits, including wound checks
• Adhere to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU, OR, or both
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong knowledge of operative care and anesthesia management
• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and stand for long periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with plastic or cosmetic surgical specialties
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
