Operating Room Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide goal-directed nursing care adapted to the needs of individual patients and families
• Utilize assessment skills to determine patient needs for populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics
• Implement nursing actions based on scheduled surgeries and patient developmental needs
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic healthcare
• Document all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge in accordance with hospital policy
• Participate in unit activities, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Director

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN degree or higher is preferred
• Current RN Illinois license
• Graduate of an approved school of nursing
• Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma background
• 1 or more years of surgical scrub experience
