About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for assigned commercial properties.
  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and air distribution systems.
  • Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, and control gauges to maintain a comfortable building environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of engine rooms, electrical rooms, backup generators, and fire/life safety equipment.
  • Execute general repairs including plumbing fixtures, doors, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Monitor energy management systems and document all maintenance activities and reports.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations such as equipment failures or fire evacuations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5+ years of related work experience operating MEP systems in a commercial property setting.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Basic computing skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work the assigned shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11pm - 7am.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school.
  • Possession of relevant trade licenses or certificates of fitness (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician, Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness, High Pressure Boiler License, or High Pressure Steam Operator).
  • Universal Technician certification for CFCs.
