Open end Fund Accounting (SMA), Assistant Vice President

Responsibilities

• Maintain shadow books and records for open-end funds and separately managed accounts (SMA).
• Oversee daily NAV, cash, and position reconciliation processes.
• Review the work of junior team members, providing on-the-job training and guidance.
• Ensure funds are accounted for in accordance with governing fund documents.
• Support the resolution of cash and position/asset breaks.
• Review management fees, journal entries, and monthly closing accruals.
• Coordinate with independent auditors, custodians, and fund administrators.
• Assist with the accounting for complex corporate actions and financial statement reviews.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Partner with offshore teams to develop and optimize fund processes.

Requirements

• 12-15 years of relevant accounting or audit experience, ideally within Big Four public accounting or the investment management industry.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis.
• Deep understanding of investment company accounting rules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification.
• Experience with Geneva or Geneva World Investor accounting systems.
• Proficiency with data analytical tools such as PowerBI or Alteryx.
