Oncology RN

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized oncology nursing care through the assessment, execution, and monitoring of medical treatment plans
• Use the nursing process to provide individualized care to the assigned patient population
• Assess patient history, physiological status, and psychosocial status to formulate care plans
• Manage complex oncology-specific needs, including vasovagal responses, hematomas at puncture sites, and EKG interpretation
• Administer medications safely and maintain IV access for all patients
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop safe and realistic discharge plans
• Provide essential education to patients and their families regarding treatment and follow-up care
• Adhere to infection prevention guidelines and all organizational safety protocols

Requirements

• College Diploma in Nursing
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
• ACLS Certification
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification (or ability to obtain within one year of employment)
• 2 years of nursing experience
