Oncology RN

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients via direct and/or telephone contact following established standards
• Coordinate with care team members to ensure seamless care delivery and active patient participation
• Perform telephone triage with an emphasis on assessment, problem identification, and decision-making
• Administer prescribed medications correctly, demonstrating knowledge of dosage, route, site, and side effects
• Perform authorized technical procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, and IV placement/monitoring
• Handle hazardous drugs as part of infusion nursing duties
• Provide accurate clinical information and patient teaching consistent with professional nursing scope of practice

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Registered Nurse license in New York State (NYS) in good standing
• 1+ years of oncology or hospital experience
• Solid IV skills, including IV placement and mediport access

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.)
• Current BLS certification
• 2+ years of recent professional nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting
• Experience mixing and administering chemotherapy drugs
