Oncology Research Nurse I- Pediatrics

Responsibilities

• Conduct informed consent discussions and obtain assent/consent
• Perform research visits and required protocol assessments
• Conduct physical assessments within nursing scope of practice
• Monitor patient responses to drug administration
• Perform study-related patient education and phone triage
• Maintain timely research nursing documentation per SOP
• Facilitate study drug order preparation and verification
• Assist with pre-certifications and prior authorizations
• Participate in disease-specific and departmental meetings
• Complete required study-related training and GCP testing

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Accelerated Program in Nursing
• NYS RN License
• Four years of related experience or equivalent in education

Preferred Qualifications

• HIPAA, GCP, and COI training certifications
• Clinical research or oncology nursing experience
• Pediatric nursing experience
• Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse certification
• Proficiency with MS Word and Mac/PC platforms
