On Location Accessibility Advisor

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of students with disabilities, performing comprehensive assessments and interviews to identify needs.
• Review and interpret confidential medical, psychological, and neurological documentation to determine appropriate accommodations.
• Develop, recommend, and implement academic accommodation strategies and solutions.
• Advise course instructors, faculty, and staff on student accommodation issues and disability-related matters.
• Research and recommend alternative approaches to fulfill the duty to accommodate.
• Provide case management support and assess student funding applications for appropriate disbursement.
• Write confidential student accommodation summaries and monitor the effectiveness of implemented strategies.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in education, social work, psychology, learning disabilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience, specifically within a post-secondary environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and monitoring academic accommodations for adults with disabilities.
• Proven experience working with adults with mental health disabilities, including requisite counseling skills.
• Ability to interpret complex psychoeducational, neurological, and learning disability reports.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and professional interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
