On-call Substitute

Responsibilities

• Observation and handling of spasms and epileptic seizures
• Monitoring breathing and handling respiratory aids (mainly CPAP)
• Assistance with position changes, transfers via lift, and short lifts
• Assistance with all personal hygiene as needed
• Pain management
• Providing comfort, closeness, and security
• Cleaning and preparation of medical equipment
• Practical assistance such as folding clothes and opening medical supplies

Requirements

• Experience or interest in working with children with illness and functional variations
• Knowledge of epilepsy and use of button/PEG is an advantage
• Knowledge of respiratory aids is an advantage
• Must provide a clean police certificate
• Proficiency in spoken and written Norwegian
• Physical capacity to lift and support the child
• Vaccination against seasonal influenza is desired

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare or caregiving roles
• Familiarity with medical equipment maintenance
