Offshore Pedestal Crane Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate the vessel pedestal crane within designed load capacities and weather/sea state derating tables
• Perform basket transfers when safe and permitted
• Monitor surroundings to prevent clashes with other vessel equipment and manage interactions with multiple cranes
• Operate articulated booms on knuckle boom cranes and utilize active/passive heave compensation systems where applicable
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on the crane and operator's cabin
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the operator's cabin
• Liaise with the Chief Engineer and Chief Electrician regarding crane maintenance and repairs
• Complete crane logbooks for all lifts exceeding 50 tonnes
• Adhere to all safe work procedures and stop lifting activities if safety or technical risks arise

Requirements

• Valid Home country Crane Operator License
• Stage III certification in Offshore Pedestal Crane (BS7121 standard)
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating pedestal cranes ranging from 10 to 50 Tonnes
• Fluent English communication skills
