About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from alumni, parents, and friends to support the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science.
- Manage an active portfolio of approximately 150 prospects, conducting personal visits to close gifts ranging from $250,000 to $10,000,000.
- Prepare tailored written solicitation materials, proposals, talking points, and briefings for individual donors.
- Conduct ongoing prospect research to identify and qualify new potential donors and develop strategic cultivation plans.
- Collaborate with the Dean, faculty, and administration to align fundraising efforts with School and University priorities.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive contact reports and activity records in the Advance database.
- Plan and execute small development events to engage key donors and prospects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5-7 years of related experience in fundraising or a similar field.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-level donor relationships with tact and sensitivity.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary to meet portfolio goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree.
- Experience in higher education fundraising or capital campaigns.
- Demonstrated success in annual or capital giving.
- Intellectual interest in engineering and technology.
