Officer: Authorisations

Responsibilities

• Assess work requirements and quotations to authorize work orders for scheduled maintenance, breakdowns, and accident repairs
• Scrutinize supplier quotations to implement cost-saving initiatives and minimize service disruption
• Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding work order authorizations
• Validate and process authorizations and invoices within mandated limits and internal policies
• Analyze OEM warranty policies to determine coverage for warranty or goodwill claims
• Negotiate lower labor rates and parts pricing with suppliers
• Monitor quality of workmanship and timeframes delivered by service providers
• Maintain accurate electronic and manual records of all quotations and correspondence

Requirements

• Matric or equivalent technical qualification
• Qualified Motor Technician
• 3 years of experience as a qualified motor technician, preferably in the Fleet industry
• Experience working with and maintaining commercial vehicles
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicles
• Proficiency in computer literacy and email/call etiquette
