Off-Track Railroad Spray Technician

Responsibilities

• Mix and load spray trucks with water and approved chemical solutions
• Apply herbicides to off-track railroad rights-of-way using hose-reel spray systems
• Perform minor vegetation management including weed eating and chainsaw work
• Pull, manage, and roll up 300–500 feet of spray hose across uneven terrain
• Safely drive and operate spray trucks between job sites
• Meet daily production goals for assigned off-track areas
• Complete end-of-day paperwork and reporting
• Follow railroad safety rules, environmental regulations, and company policies
• Participate in daily job briefings and communicate with dispatch/MTM

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license with minimum 5 years clean driving history
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check
• Ability to travel and work away from home for 4–6 weeks at a time
• Flexible availability including weekends, nights, and extended hours
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and physically demanding environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Hi-Rail or vegetation spray experience
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator's License (or ability to earn after hire)
