Occupational Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy to patients in home settings to restore physical ability
• Follow the established plan of care as defined by the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatments within the scope of practice
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and changes in condition to the nurse supervisor and physician
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and home care needs
• Maintain compliance with all state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care

Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) licensure in the state of practice
• Current NBCOT certification in good standing
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
• Access to a dependable vehicle for travel to patient homes

Preferred Qualifications

• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently
• Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
