Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Responsibilities

• Treat pediatric clients using therapeutic and self-care activities to improve function under the direction of a licensed OTR
• Monitor client activities to ensure correct performance and offer encouragement
• Collaborate with OTRs on progress reports, status updates, and plan of care changes
• Document session results using SOAP note format with point of service documentation
• Instruct clients, families, and caregivers in treatment program techniques and exercises
• Verify client information and maintain accurate occupational therapy records
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment in compliance with legal regulations
• Manage equipment maintenance and notify management of supply needs

Requirements

• Unrestricted Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from an accredited program
• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the current state
• 1+ year of experience as a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills

• Bilingual in Spanish
