Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Responsibilities

• Treat pediatric clients using therapeutic and self-care activities to improve function under the direction of a licensed OTR
• Monitor client activities to ensure correct performance and offer encouragement
• Collaborate with OTRs on progress reports, status updates, and supervision meetings
• Document session results using SOAP note format with point-of-service documentation
• Instruct clients, families, and caregivers in treatment program techniques and exercises
• Follow the established plan of care and collaborate on necessary adjustments
• Maintain accurate occupational therapy records and billing information
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following all professional standards and legal regulations

Requirements

• Unrestricted Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from an accredited program
• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the current state
• 1+ year of experience as a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills and a compassionate demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish
