Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Responsibilities

• Treat clients using therapeutic and self-care activities under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist
• Monitor client activities and offer encouragement to improve performance
• Collaborate with OTR on progress reports and status updates
• Document session results in SOAP note format using point of service documentation
• Instruct clients and caregivers in treatment program techniques
• Demonstrate exercises to help clients perform everyday tasks
• Verify client information and medical history
• Follow and collaborate on the plan of care developed by the occupational therapist
• Maintain occupational therapy records and billing information
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment and equipment

Requirements

• Unrestricted Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from an accredited program
• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the current state
• 1+ year of experience as a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a pediatric outpatient clinic setting
• Ongoing participation in continued education courses
