Responsibilities

  • Provide care and service consistent with Bashor’s solution-focused, evidence-based, and family/client centered treatment philosophy
  • Assist in supplementing, enhancing, and extending occupational therapy programs
  • Carry out activities designed by OTR to assist with assessment, intervention, treatment, and functional abilities
  • Assist OTR with screenings, assessments, and occupational therapy services
  • Follow and implement documented IEP plans or protocols
  • Document student progress toward meeting established objectives and report to the OTR
  • Prepare prior authorizations for residents
  • Prepare therapy materials and equipment for classroom and therapy activities
  • Adapt or modify instructional materials or equipment for teacher use in the classroom
  • Assist in maintaining resident records, tallying data, and preparing reports
  • Implement behavior management programs and report significant behavioral patterns to the OTR
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and functional work environment

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification from Indiana Board of Occupational Therapy
  • Experience working within a school setting
  • Experience in a pediatric setting is a plus
  • Ability to pass required background checks, physical, and drug screen
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
