About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients based on regulatory requirements within the Neuro Rehab department
- Provide education, training, and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and interprofessional team members
- Participate in discharge planning and liaise with community partners and stakeholders
- Participate in interprofessional rounds and complete timely, thorough clinical documentation
- Provide supervision to rehabilitation assistants in the delivery of occupational therapy services
- Provide on-call services for weekend supervision of rehabilitation assistants on a rotational basis
- Pursue continuous professional development and participate in service planning and clinical evaluations
Requirements
- MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to achieve 80% in the Functional Independent Measure (FIM) certification exam within the probationary period
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team and handle flexible hours
