Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients within the Neuro Rehab department based on regulatory requirements
• Provide education, training, and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and interprofessional team members
• Participate in discharge planning and interprofessional rounds
• Complete timely and thorough clinical documentation and manage clinical workload
• Provide supervision to rehabilitation assistants and offer on-call services for weekend supervision on a rotational basis
• Pursue continuous professional development and participate in service planning and clinical evaluation of equipment
• Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards and legislation

Requirements

• MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
• Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to achieve 80% in the Functional Independent Measure (FIM) certification exam within the probationary period
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team and handle flexible hours
