About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, program planning, treatment intervention, and evaluation in areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure
- Participate as an active member of an interprofessional team to assess client needs
- Collaborate with other care providers to deliver patient-centered care
- Delegate responsibilities to occupational therapy assistants and prescribe necessary aids or assistive devices
- Educate student Occupational Therapists
- Participate in program planning, development, and hospital initiatives supporting quality management and research
- Ensure compliance with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B Level or C Level) certification
- Strong clinical skills related to patient goal setting and creative treatment interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use theoretical and evidence-based concepts in practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Neuro Rehabilitation
- MoCA Certification
- Membership with a professional association
