Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, program planning, treatment intervention, and evaluation in areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure
• Participate as an active member of an interprofessional team to assess client needs
• Collaborate with other care providers to deliver patient-centered care
• Delegate responsibilities to occupational therapy assistants and prescribe necessary aids or assistive devices
• Educate student Occupational Therapists
• Participate in program planning, development, and hospital initiatives supporting quality management and research
• Ensure compliance with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
• Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (B Level or C Level) certification
• Strong clinical skills related to patient goal setting and creative treatment interventions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to use theoretical and evidence-based concepts in practice

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Neuro Rehabilitation
• MoCA Certification
• Membership with a professional association
