About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide quality occupational therapy services to patients at Princess Margaret Hospital within the framework of patient centered care
- Assess and treat patients, primarily covering Auto and Bone Marrow transplant oncology patients
- Delegate appropriate duties to OTA/ PTA and provide student supervision
- Communicate effectively with members of the inter-professional team
- Provide education to patients, families, students, and interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees, and quality initiatives
- Assist with coverage of other service areas as required
Requirements
- Completion of a Masters of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (M.Sc. (OT)) or equivalent
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- 1-2 years experience in an acute care hospital preferred
- Experience with psychosocial and physical health assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in CAOT and/or OSOT
- Experience with acute patients in Surgical, Oncology, GIM, Cardiovascular, Transplant, MSICU, or Nephrology
- Experience with splinting, neurological dysfunction, seating, and positioning
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
