Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide quality occupational therapy services to patients within a patient-centered care framework
• Perform assessments, treatments, evaluations, and consultations to minimize dysfunction and maximize functional independence
• Communicate effectively with members of the inter-professional team
• Provide education to patients, families, occupational therapy students, and interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees, and departmental quality initiatives
• Assist with coverage of other service areas as required

Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (B.Sc. (OT)) or equivalent
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
• Experience with psychosocial and physical health assessment and intervention skills
• Experience addressing occupational performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and/or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT)
• MOCA certification
• 1-2 years of experience working in a hospital setting
• Experience with splinting, neurological dysfunction, and seating/positioning
