About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide quality occupational therapy services to patients within a patient-centered care framework
- Perform assessments, treatments, evaluations, and consultations to minimize dysfunction and maximize functional independence
- Communicate effectively with members of the inter-professional team
- Provide education to patients, families, occupational therapy students, and interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees, and departmental quality initiatives
- Assist with coverage of other service areas as required
Requirements
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (B.Sc. (OT)) or equivalent
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Experience with psychosocial and physical health assessment and intervention skills
- Experience addressing occupational performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and/or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT)
- MOCA certification
- 1-2 years of experience working in a hospital setting
- Experience with splinting, neurological dysfunction, and seating/positioning
