Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, consultation, and education services for geriatric and musculoskeletal patients
• Collaborate with an inter-professional team to provide patient-focused care
• Develop and maintain community resource networks and make appropriate referrals
• Perform departmental responsibilities to ensure efficient service provision
• Provide training and supervision for Occupational Therapy students
• Participate in quality management, research initiatives, and hospital development
• Adapt to cover various units based on operational needs

Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (B Level or C Level) certification
• Experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions
• Strong clinical skills related to patient goal setting and creative treatment interventions
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Computer proficiency and ability to exercise sound clinical judgment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in geriatrics
• Membership with a professional association (e.g., CAOT, OSOT)
• ADP Authorizer status
