About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, consultation, and education services for geriatric and musculoskeletal patients
- Collaborate with an inter-professional team to provide patient-focused care
- Develop and maintain community resource networks and make appropriate referrals
- Perform departmental responsibilities to ensure efficient service provision
- Provide training and supervision for Occupational Therapy students
- Participate in quality management, research initiatives, and hospital development
- Adapt to cover various units based on operational needs
Requirements
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B Level or C Level) certification
- Experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions
- Strong clinical skills related to patient goal setting and creative treatment interventions
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Computer proficiency and ability to exercise sound clinical judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in geriatrics
- Membership with a professional association (e.g., CAOT, OSOT)
- ADP Authorizer status
