About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop treatment plans based on evaluation results
- Review physician referrals and medical records to determine required therapy
- Provide direct patient care following established protocols and guidelines
- Document findings, progress, and instructions for patients and caregivers
- Oversee patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians
- Complete written plans of care and develop goal-oriented programs
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies
- Ensure timely documentation including daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- NBCOT certification
- Current Virginia state license or ability to obtain one
- CPR certification
- Ability to implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation plans
- Proficiency with EMR systems and MS Office
